Our Story

Starting in 2021, the founders of Grounded (formerly Bean4Cup) have been developing innovative solutions within the circular economy and scaling up our operations. Our extensive research on new sustainable materials has provided a foundation for selecting ingredients and developing materials for future biodegradable and compostable products. 

The company's mission to eliminate plastic and paper cups arose from an awareness of two alarming realities within the coffee industry:  

• A substantial amount of coffee grounds is discarded every day, despite their valuable properties 

• The use of disposable cups is increasing at an alarming rate each year. 

As a result, we are actively working on creating an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional disposable cups. After much innovation and countless cups of coffee, the concept of an eco-friendly disposable cup made from coffee grounds emerged. Grounded is guided by a vision to implement the circular economy in the coffee industry by repurposing resources that would otherwise go to waste and ending the use of environmentally harmful solutions. We strive to make a difference in the coffee industry with our solutions and contribute to the betterment of our planet.
